About the Journal
Focus and Scope
UDL Research and Practice is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal aimed to enhance and inform the application and development of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). This journal supports the new generation of scholarly researchers and field-based practitioners through a publication that integrates multiple forms of research and scholarly work including. The journal of UDL Research and Practice is published quarterly.
Research: Driven through inquiry that includes research questions, methods in quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and single-case design. Additionally, articles that review concept/theoretical, positions, application/design, and systematic literature reviews are accepted.
Practice: Driven with the purpose of sharing research-to-practice strategies and materials to enhance the implementation of UDL. Articles can be framed as case studies, model demonstrations, positions, and book reviews.
Peer Review Process
UDL Research and Practice employs a blind peer review process with at least two referees evaluating each manuscript submitted. Reviewers may be members of the publication’s editorial team or ad hoc reviewers with specialized knowledge related to the topic at hand. All reviewers possess an advanced degree and a record of scholarly publication in Universal Design for Learning or related fields.
Open Access Policy
UDL Research and Practice is an open access journal. Authors do not pay for publication; publication is not fee-based. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial 4.0 International License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
