This edited collection, curated and introduced by Norman Saul, offers a firsthand account of the 1905 Russian Revolution as seen through the eyes of American writer Ernest Poole. The articles included in this collection were originally published in the progressive journal The Outlook. This work is unique in that it represents the only coverage of the revolution by an American who benefited from the assistance of a Russian guide and interpreter. The primary source material presented here provides valuable insights for historians, scholars, and researchers seeking to understand the complexities of this pivotal moment in Russian history.
