About the Journal

Auslegung: A Journal of Philosophy is a peer-reviewed, free-to-authors, open-access philosophy journal based in the Philosophy department at the University of Kansas.

Auslegung: A Journal of Philosophy began as an experiment led by the philosophical community at the University of Kansas in 1973. The Editor-in-Chief, Tom Nemeth, along with other philosophers at KU, sought to “elicit articles and also, hopefully, subsequent commentary in an effort to improve the communication of ideas.” For 40 years, and over 30 volumes, Auslegung has been doing precisely this. What’s more, Auslegung has been a home for a diverse-range of philosophical viewpoints.

We encourage submissions on any topic of philosophical import. To learn more about submitting an original research article, commentary or book review, please click on the Submissions link above.
