Author Guidelines

Original Manuscript and Commentary Submission Guidelines

  • Manuscript must be submitted in a Word Document, be double-spaced with a 12-point font, have page numbers, and 1-inch margins.
  • The manuscript must be formatted in the Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Must include separate attachment for figures.
  • Must include separate abstract that is no longer than 300 words.
  • Submissions should be between 3000 to 4500 words and prepared for blind review.
  • Author must remove name and institutional affiliation from all documents.

Book Review Guidelines

  • Auslegung publishes book reviews that touch on philosophical-issues. We are open to publishing book reviews of books that are not philosophical, but we encourage that reviews bring philosophical issues to bear in the review.
  • Unlike original research articles and commentaries, there is no need to submit an abstract. Book reviews should not exceed 600 words, should be submitted in a Word Document with a 12-point font, double-spaced, and should be formatted using the Chicago Manual of Style.

  • Auslegung publishes original research articles, commentaries, and book reviews.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • Where available, DOIs for the references have been provided.
  • Manuscript must be submitted in a Word Document, be double-spaced with a 12-point font, have page numbers, and 1-inch margins.
  • The manuscript must be formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Must include separate attachment for figures.
