Deadline extended to 10 March 2025 –2025 Hybrid Bilingual Interdisciplinary Conference: “Druze in the Levant and the Diaspora - Discourses of Tradition and Modernity”
As we move forward with preparations for the 2025 Druze Studies Conference at the University of Kansas, I wanted to provide an update on our progress and extend an opportunity for you to submit an abstract if you are still interested in participating.
We have received a strong set of submissions from scholars across various disciplines, including history, sociology, religious studies, political science, anthropology, arts, and cultural studies. The topics span multiple geographic contexts, with a focus on the Druze communities in Lebanon, Syria, Israel, and the broader diaspora. We anticipate approximately 25 participants at the conference, making for a rich and engaging discussion. A few have indicated their plans to visit us in Lawrence, Kansas (USA), while the majority plan to join online over the Zoom webinar.
Given that several scholars have requested additional time, we have decided to extend the submission deadline for everyone until March 10, 2025. If you still intend to submit an abstract, we encourage you to do so by this final deadline. Please feel free to share this opportunity with colleagues who may be interested. Here is the link to the conference page with the information for submission of a proposal: https://druze.ku.edu/2025druzeconference
We would love to have you join the conversation and look forward to the possibility of including your work in the program.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
