Reviewers Urgently Needed
We are pleased that we are currently considering so many manuscripts for the Journal of Montessori Research. At the same time, this is a challenging time to find qualified and willing reviewers. There are many demands on everyone's time in academia today, so people are understandably stretched thin. Still we need to ask for your help to keep up with the growing number of submissions.
I am writing today to encourage you to consider signing up to serve as a reviewer or to update your reviewer information (including reviewing interests) keeping the following information in mind:
- Reviewers are expected to have a terminal degree at the doctoral level
- Reviewers have 2 to 4 weeks to read and make a recommendation about assigned manuscripts (extensions can be and often are requested and approved)
- We provide a questionnaire to help guide reviewers through the process
- More information about the reviewing process is available here
- Information about updating your profile (adding a reviewing role or updating research interests under ROLES) is available here
- MOST IMPORTANTLY: Please try if at all possible to accept requests to review even if you need to ask for more time
Our publication can only succeed with the engagement of scholars like you who understand the importance of independent, peer-reviewed contributions to the field. Please help us spread the word and continue to provide a valuable resource for the Montessori community and broader field of education research.
Sincerely,
Angela K. Murray, PhD
