Journal of Russian American Studies (JRAS) new issue – JRAS 9.1 (May 2025)
The editors of the Journal of Russian American Studies (JRAS) are pleased to announce the publication of a new issue. In this issue, please find two outstanding articles. The first is an innovative article by Svetlana Paulson on the “sounds and silences” found in the writings of U.S. diplomats in St. Petersburg in the nineteenth century. The second article is by Benjamin Pierce about the Black press and how they examined many issues in nineteenth-century Russia. There is also a special feature for this issue. David Foglesong wrote a review essay of autobiographical works by recent American ambassadors to Russia entitled “In Kennan’s Shadow.” Readers will also find five book reviews of some of the newest works in the field along with Field Notes on the current happenings in the field of Russian-American relations.
