Journal of Russian American Studies (JRAS) – Special Edition – Summer 2025 Published!
The editors of the Journal of Russian American Studies (JRAS) are thrilled to publish a special edition of the journal to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II/Great Patriotic War and its relationship to Russian-American relations. In this special issue, Dmitri Nechiporuk examines the dynamics of American journalists from the New York Times covering the war from the Soviet side. Rachel Stauffer continues the examination of this era in the context of Russian-American relations with an analysis of how Russian was taught in the United States in the years just following the war that shaped the future of this academic field for decades. Maya Garcia concludes the set of articles with examines a narrow moment in the life of legendary Soviet filmmaker, Sergei Eisenstein, where he screened American films at the end of the war that continued to influence his art in the years to come.
Please direct your attention to our Field Notes for this issue. The journal is calling for proposals for another special issue to be published in Summer 2026.
