About the Journal
Focus and Scope
The Kansas Undergraduate Journal of International Studies (KUJIS) is a multi-disciplinary journal for undergraduate research. The journal is a home for research on international or global topics from any appropriate discipline; e.g., International Studies, Political Science, Anthropology, Economics, Sociology, or Gender Studies. The journal highlights research projects involving student-driven inquiries supported by qualitative and/or quantitative data and connected to relevant literature. The topic of the research must have an international focus, which is normally but not exclusively issues occurring outside of the United States. Otherwise, undergraduate researchers should assume that solid research of any topic with an international concentration could be appropriate for submission.
Peer Review Process
Each submission will move through a review process lead by the faculty editor and volunteer student editors. The manuscripts will be scored on a rubric that authors have access to at the time of submission. After confirming the manuscript is the correct for the journal and scored by the editorial team, authors will receive feedback and potentially the opportunity to revise and resubmit their work for renewed review.
