The European Journal of Montessori Research and Education (MoRE) Joins the Journal of Montessori Research This Fall

2024-07-17

Dear Readers, Authors, and Reviewers

I am pleased to share an exciting announcement about the Journal of Montessori Research’s future. Beginning this fall, the European Journal of Montessori Research and Education (MoRE), published by Stockholm University Press, will join the Journal of Montessori Research as a single publication with increased reach and impact.

The decision to unite these two publications is based on a shared commitment to strengthen and promote Montessori education research in a global context. Montessori’s vision was for education that transcends national borders, emphasizes global cooperation, and promotes a peaceful world. We are convinced that joining together will provide a platform for international collaboration, which will create a stronger voice for Montessori education and stimulate an even wider exchange of knowledge.

In September, the existing MoRE website will be retired and past articles will be republished as a special issue of the Journal of Montessori Research. In addition, most MoRE editorial board members and editor Eva-Maria Tebano Ahlquist will be joining the editorial board of the Journal of Montessori Research.

We look forward to creating a future where research about Montessori education flourishes across borders with the support of the American Montessori Society and the University of Kansas.

Sincerely,

Angela K. Murray
Editor Journal of Montessori Research
