Journal of Russian American Studies 10.2 (November 2026) Published!
The editors of the Journal of Russian American Studies (JRAS) are thrilled to announce the publication of a new issue of the journal. This issue carries a special importance for the life of this journal. It marks the end of ten years as a journal. Honestly, we are thrilled to still be going after ten years. We are so grateful to all of the contributors (authors and reviewers) to our pages as well as the staff at the University of Kansas Libraries for hosting the journal over the past decade. We hope you enjoy the three articles found in this issue. Alexander Petrov examines Alaska's role in the history of Russian-American relations in the early nineteenth century. Jeanie Welch and Kelly Evans examine the American reactions to the death of Joseph Stalin in 1953. Thomas Jesús Garza examines the translation of Western music lyrics and their impact on the Cold War. In this issue, there are also four book reviews and a section on Field Notes as usual. There is a special section to start this issue to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the journal. Four members of the editorial board offer thoughts on the status of Russian-American relations over the past decades in different ways.
As always, we are always looking for article manuscripts, reviewers, and more. Feel free to join our efforts in our second decade!
