Lasioglossum (Lasioglossum) mcginleyi Sheffield, new name, is proposed to replace Lasioglossum (Lasioglossum) lampronotum McGinley, 1986, a name preoccupied by Lasioglossum lampronotus (Cameron, 1905) since the subgenus Afrodialictus was proposed by Pauly (1984). Though the status and/or placement of Afrodialictus has differed across some recent classifications, here it is considered a junior synonym of Lasioglossum (Dialictus) Robertson supporting the need for a replacement name.
