Two maps showing populations with German ancestry and those speaking German

About the Journal

The Yearbook of German American Studies is published annually by the Society for German American Studies and the University of Kansas Libraries.  The editor welcomes contributions in English, preferably, or German, on the history, language, literature, and culture of the German element in the Americas.   This includes coverage of the immigrants and their descendants from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and other German-speaking areas of Europe.

The maps on this site show U.S. Census data about the number of people with German Ancestry1 and the number of speakers of German2.  Both maps are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License.
